The Illinois Music Educators Association Elementary and Junior High Division will host its annual District I Music Festival Saturday Nov. 6, at Lincoln Way North High School in Frankfort.  The festival will involve more than 500 students selected from more than 60 schools throughout the southwestern metropolitan Chicago area, including Roosevelt Middle School in River Forest. Roosevelt students participating are: Mary Grace Babbo, Sophia Kreider, Emma Sloan and Sharadram Sundaresen on violin; and Nick Fields on alto sax. Roosevelt music directors: David Wuersig (orchestra) and Brek Hufnus (band).

The Festival Band, Orchestra, and Chorus will present a public Festival Finale Concert takes place at 3 p.m. in the Lincoln Way North High School Gymnasium.  Appearing in concert will be the 150 member festival band, the 100 piece festival orchestra, and the festival chorus numbering over 150 voices.
