Ellen Pimentel Wins Health Educator Award
District 97 parent and health activist Ellen Pimentel won the 3rdĀ Annual Sandra Noel Health Educator Award, which is awarded by Whole Foods Market in River Forest and named for retired District 97 teacher Sandy Noel.

Oak Parker Ellen Pimentel who has led the way to healthier school lunch options in both elementary and the high school was nominated for the third annual Sandra Noel Health Educator Award.

Pimentel is “a health crusader and advocate who collaborates with Beye School and Oak Park and River Forest High School on behalf of all children,” Noel wrote about the nominee.

Pimentel led the District 97 PTO Council’s push for a healthier lunch program, which resulted in a hot lunch program at Beye and Irving schools. The district changed the lunch program for all 10 schools after that, Noel wrote.
