Mary R. Barth (nee Rossi), 91, a 39-year resident of Oak Park, died in her home on Sept. 9, 2015 surrounded by her family. Born on March 26, 1924 in Chicago and raised in the city. During World War II, she was one of many wonderful “Rosie the Riveters” and later worked for the Rossi Construction Company. She married Roy Barth in 1948, and they moved to Oak Park in 1976. A member of the St. Giles Family Mass, she loved ballroom dancing, traveling and socializing with her friends and family. She was also a longtime member of Gottlieb Health Club. 

Mary Barth is survived by her daughters, Linda (Tony) Giovingo and Mari Callahan-Ross (Scott Ross); her grandchildren, Michael (Bridget) Thomason, Rebecca (Rick) Humbert and David (Tara) Thomason, Leah (Rey) Garcia, Jacob (Naomi), Benjamin (Vida) and Joseph (fiancée Lori Hardman) Giovingo, and Amanda (John Maddalena) Callahan, Elizabeth (Ron) Johnson, Jonathan Callahan and Kelly Ross; and her great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Megan, Cate, Charlie and Maggie, Taylor and Paige, Nikolas and Collin, and Akio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; her daughter, Patricia Thomason; her parents, James and Carmela Rossi; and her brothers, Frank, John, Carmen, Angelo and Tony Rossi. 

Visitation was held on Sept. 11 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home with a funeral Mass on Sept. 12 at St. Luke Church in River Forest, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
