Isn't it nice that so much family is involved in the Sept. 18 Music Runs in the Family event at FitzGerald's (788-2118)? We'll introduce everybody to you, but don't be overwhelmed; it's a little like being the new girlfriend at Thanksgiving. On Tuesday night we get to hear world beat band Euforquestra from Iowa City, who are dropping by on their national tour and are especially notable for the presence of former Oak Parker Adam Grosso on percussion. But wait-weren't those Adam's parents, Jim and Mary Grosso, in the evening's opening set by Thursday's Child? Right you are, Sherlock. And not only that, but the rest of the Grosso kids, Mike and Gabe, will be making a guest appearance. And here's the kicker: the other two players in Thursday's Child, the ones who aren't Grossos, are Grossos' friends, Bob and Mary Kay Lopardo, and their kids Liz and Laura will be sitting in with the band, too! There, now you know everyone. After dinner there'll be a quiz. Joke, ha ha.

Oh, boy! What a great week! We almost forgot that we can see a free outdoor screening of Grease on Friday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. on the quad at Dominican University, 7900 W. Division St. (524-6037). We get to see John Travolta when he still had that cute little backside. We'll just busy ourself with our popcorn at the end of the movie when Olivia Newton-John transforms from perky virgin into motorcycle slut in order not to lose her boyfriend.

Hey! The Carousel Horse Auction is Sunday, Sept. 16, at 2 p.m. at 129 N. Oak Park Ave. You know those beautiful horses that you've seen around town but weren't allowed to climb on? Well buy one and you can.
