Don't follow Trump's misleading lead

Opinion: Letters To The Editor

The past two Wednesday Journals have published "One Views" by Harriet Hausman, who describes herself as a "longtime member of the ACLU" and  a "longer-time patriot." The first piece described how to turn a Central American refugee into a terrorist despite there being no evidence that such refugees are being radicalized. The second maintains that adding a citizenship question proposed for the U.S. Census would "lessen the number of representatives to Congress." The number of members of the House of Representatives is set by law. The total number (435) is not affected by the census. The distribution of seats among states is.

Ms. Hausman is trying to scare us. She is following the lead of our president and many other of our political leaders, the very people she is trying to warn us against. I hope we are too smart to fall for her approach.
