On behalf of the members of the Supported Education Association (SEA), we must respectfully disagree with District 97 board member Peter Traczyk’s assertion that “finances are the board’s primary responsibility.” [D97 board vote exposes split among officers, News, May 21]


While we do not question that finances are important, we believe the primary responsibility of the board of education is to assure that each and every student receives a quality education.
