The Oak Park Eagles 9U "A" team led by head coach Greg Price took home third place at the 16-team Homewood Invitational Tournament. The Eagles went undefeated in pool play, securing the top seed while beating Glen Ellyn, Chicago East Side and Munster, Ind. Oak Park fell to eventual runner-up Schererville, Ind. in a 14-11 slugfest before beating Dyer, Ind. in the consolation game.

Luke Coffey started on the mound, combining with Colin MacKinnon, who pitched the final four innings to earn the win for the Eagles. The Eagles' bats came alive after the first, with the boys outslugging Dyer 16-2 the rest of the way. Key run-scoring hits came from Greg Price, Jr., EJ Locke, and Archie Beecroft, supported by great defensive play by Ian Miller at 3B. Joe Nieslawski doubled in Jack Dalton with the winning score, after Dalton had tripled in two runs.
