Quid pro quo? Springfield will get the progressive income tax on the ballot in 2020. How about changing the pension system to protect Illinois residents from these astronomically high annual pensions that public employees receive? Seems Springfield thinks we have a revenue issue. I feel we have a spending issue. These salary bumps at the end of one’s career are insane and will have a huge impact on municipal finances going forward.

Show some goodwill, senators. Add the pension referendum to the 2020 ballot.
