The lives of the following U.S. soldiers were sacrificed in Operation Enduring Freedom between June 24 and July 2:

In the city of Chicago, the following people were killed by violence between June 27 and July 3:

Freddy Lara, 31; Aaron Knox, 29; Chavonne Brown, 31; Sterling Sims, 5; Malcolm Whitney, 16; Shannon Ware, 28; Jordan Jefferson, 24; Stephon Miller, 18; Ashley Hardmon, 19; Damani Henard, 14; Terrence Graves, 23; Ernest McMullen, 26; William Jones, 26; Rayford Brown, 24.
