parasite derogatory: "a person who habitually relies on or exploits others and gives nothing in return" Lets stay local and focus on our very own parasites such as Don Harmon, Mike Madigan and John Cullerton whom think its perfectly OK to be partners in their law firms and reap the benefits from state and local deals.....

Unfortunately, almost every congressman and senator is an ultra rich parasite. He wouldn't be in the white house if the DNC didn't shoot themselves in their own foot and force Hillary on everyone. Bernie would have easily won OH, MI, WI, and PA.

Oh, Neal, you are so, so right. That's why the crime family currently occupying the White House - a collection of takers who cannot stop themselves - must be voted out of office along with their whole class of ultra-rich parasites.

Givers have to set limits on the takers, because takers will not set limits on themselves.

I agree Bruce. Oak Park is heading down a slippery slope here. Just take a look at all the trustees and school board members. Very few if any people of color. Oak Parkers claim to embrace diversity, but we are now taxing all of the diversity out of town. Soon we will look like Wheaton or Hinsdale. Of course, there we be plenty of affordable rentals available for the 2nd tier citizens of Oak Park to reside in, but home ownership will soon be out of reach.

Tom: It won't make a bit of difference here in Oak Park. And the reason to quote George Lakoff (former Professor of Linguistics at UC Berkeley) is that "voters don't vote their self interest, they vote their values." The irony of course is that by continuing to "vote their values" and thereby agree to these inane D97 and D200 money grabs, the very ideals and nature of our village will slowly disappear.

Lets have a referendum right now, when the tax bills arrive.
