- Village is a few sandwiches short of a picnic on vehicle stickers

A new vehicle sticker, obviously, is a "valid" sticker [Ticket revenue is not worth the price, Viewpoints, June 21].
The instructions that come with the stickers state that the sticker must be displayed "by" midnight June 30. The instructions say nothing about leaving the old sticker on until July 1. Indeed, the instructions require the sticker to be displayed in the lower right corner of the front windshield. If the old sticker is supposed to be left on, the only way to accomplish this is to 1) put the new sticker on top of the old sticker, or 2) switch stickers precisely at 11:59 p.m. June 30.
I'd say that if the village's official position is that the old sticker has to be left on, then the village is a few sandwiches short of a picnic and also is engaging in deceptive practices. It would be interesting to know exactly what the applicable village ordinance says.
