A huge thank-you to the park board, Executive Director Jan Arnold and Superintendent of Parks and Planning Chris Lindgren for their vision and support in creating the first dedicated pickleball courts in Oak Park. Six new courts now reside at the once under-utilized Barrie Park over the Barrie Reservoir.

The board listened and responded to the community's desire to create a space where active adults can now participate fully in the fastest-growing sport in the country. The Park District of Oak Park had previously added pickleball lines to several tennis courts throughout the village, but the demand for more court space was increasing.

The Oak Park Pickleball Community thanks you and invites all who want to learn the game to come on over to Barrie Park and join us Monday-Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. all summer long.
