On June 2, over 125 guests gathered at the Cheney Mansion to celebrate the Annual Meeting of the United Way of Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park (formerly Community Chest of Oak Park-River Forest). Residents, local businesses and community organizations were recognized for their generous contributions to the 2004 United Way campaign. The keynote speaker was Marty Noll, Community Bank president.
According to its mission statement, each year the United Way of Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park works in conjunction with local social service agencies by funding specific programs that meet the needs of residents in our three communities. After an extensive evaluation, funds raised during the campaign year are allocated to those programs that make the most impact in the community.
