We are all aware that falsehoods are a big problem in the world today, but they keep on coming. Case in point is the ad for the June 15 "Walk for Justice" in Wednesday Journal on June 12 with a graphic image that claims "From Palestine to Mexico All the Walls Have Got to Go." The program seeks to conflate the racist border wall proposed by the president, with the security barrier between Israel and the West Bank that has led to a 93 percent drop in terror attacks. Fanning the flames of division and misunderstanding in order to garner support for a cause does nothing to promote peace or justice. We call for a return to the values of unity, inclusion, and diversity that keep Oak Park so special. As we say proudly, "Hate has no home here."
