Police searching for gunman in his late teens

A 21-year-old Chicago man was shot while sitting in his vehicle at the Shell gas station at 6129 W. North Ave. at about 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14, according to Oak Park police.

Police report that the victim was in his vehicle when a man approached and fired a gun into the vehicle and then fled westbound in the alley south of North Avenue.

The passengers drove the victim to West Suburban Medical Center.

The shooter was described as roughly 19 years old, 5-foot-9, slim and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

No additional information was immediately available.
