By Marc Stopeck

Editorial Cartoonist / Weekly Sales Representative

This month marks the 25th anniversary of Marc Stopeck's Shrubtown cartoon appearing in Wednesday Journal. To celebrate the occasion, Stopeck spent a day at Careful Peach Boutique, (1024 North Blvd., Oak Park) recreating in chalk one of his favorite cartoons of the last year, an equestrian portrait of Oak Park Mayor Anan Abu-Taleb. Watch the whole four and half hour process in a 30 second time-lapse video. The drawing will be up at Careful Peach for the next few weeks.

I finally saw this after long weekend away. Brilliant as always. Does this mean we have to travel over the Alps to find available spaces?

Marc: You better be careful. Sometimes you step on the overly sensitive toes of the politically correct!

Terrific job, Marc! If only Oak Park could be as rapidly progressive as your harpooning of the current Grand Poobah of all things supposedly authoritative in Oak Park. How could you have possibly withstood 25 years of this?????
