Oak Park police are searching for two men who attempted to steal a man's vehicle at gunpoint in the 1100 block of South Taylor Avenue at 10:35 a.m., on Saturday, May 19.

Police report that the man was exiting his vehicle when two men approached, one of whom displayed a gun. They demanded the man's car keys, wallet and cell phone, and a struggle ensued when the man refused. The two offenders fled, and video surveillance showed them walking eastbound in a nearby alley.

The man sustained minor injuries but did not seek medical attention. He described the men as black and in their late teens. They wore dark hooded jackets.

A witness and surveillance video, yet no description? Good luck with that, real intrepid reporting. What a lucky victim that the struggle resulted in attempted carjacking and not attempted murder or worse.
