Thomas Arthur Capizzi, 93, a longtime resident of Naperville, formerly of Oak Park, died on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at his Tabor Hills residence. Born on March 12, 1919 in Lockport, he was a World War II Army veteran who served in the Pacific, North African, and European campaigns.

Mr. Capizzi and his wife, Amy, were longtime proprietors of the Cottage Cupboard Restaurant in Oak Park.

Thomas Capizzi is survived by his children, Bonnie (Dennis) Connolly, Ron (Sue Ann), and Joan (John) Mahoney; his siblings, John and Marian; his grandchildren, Chandler (Alexa) Connolly, Phoebe Connolly, David (Melissa) Capizzi, Kimberly Capizzi, Marlena (Brian) Bergeron, and Natalie Wojcik; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas and Carolina Capizzi and Mitchell Bergeron. He was preceded in death by his wife, Amy Capizzi (nee Aceto); his wife, Cecilia Gartner; and his brother, Paul Jr. A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on May 12, 2012 at St. Raphael’s Church in Naperville.

Arrangements were handled by Eric Klemundt of the Cremation Society of Illinois.
