Pointed questions for RF trustees

Do we still have a functioning River Forest village board? I understand that it is a legal obligation of elected officials to attend board meetings if they are in town. It was stated at the March 27 meeting that it had been 49 days since our elected village trustees had had a meeting at which the public's business could be conducted.

For the second consecutive time, no business could be conducted for want of a quorum. The March 27 meeting was only attended by Mr. Nummer, Mr. Hoke, and Mr. Dudek (A quorum requires four trustees). The question is "Why was there no quorum?"

The president of the board was in
Florida. Ms. Conti was on vacation in Italy. But what of Ms. Dillon and Mr. O'Brien? Both were seen in the village on the day of the meeting.

Ironically it is these two trustees who have frequently complained about meetings extending past
10 p.m. Is it not apparent to them that their non-attendance at regularly scheduled board meetings ensures that issues will accumulate and thereby necessitate late night meetings?

It all makes no sense. If people don't want to serve, why do they run for political office? If they have lost interest in public service, why don't they resign? These are questions the public has a right to ask of their elected officials.
