Gene Moore proves, again, he is a hack

I have, over the years, described Cook County Recorder of Deeds Gene Moore as the greatest political hack I've ever had the personal pleasure of covering. He's got that charm thing going, dresses well, hasn't a thought in his head that wasn't planted there, and does the damage of incompetence wherever he goes.

So I enjoyed, in that reinforcing of prejudices sort of way, a Eugene Moore item in the Monday Sun-Times. Moore's office is looking to bring in a $25,000 consultant to work on customer service issues. (How about a million dollar consultant to draft the plan to merge the recorder of deeds office with county clerk and the assessor's office? Now there would be money well spent.) Anyhow, Moore wants to hire this consultant but has placed this curious detail in the bid, according to the Sun-Times. He wants someone who has worked with his office for at least 18 years.

Do you suppose they have someone in mind? Some insider, proven hack in need of a $25K payday?

This is so Cook County. So Eugene Moore
