Marcy Stumbaugh, 95, Bingo and Scrabble aficionado, Cubs fan

Marcella "Marcy" Stumbaugh, 95, of Oak Park, died at home on March 26, 2011. Born on a farm in Oconto, Wis., she moved to Chicago in the 1930s. She met her husband while dancing at the Aragon Ballroom, and they raised their family on Chicago's North Side. Later in life, she lived at the Holley Court retirement community in Oak Park.

An avid Cubs' fan, she wouldn't miss watching a game. She also loved Bingo, any type of card game, and was tough to beat at Scrabble.

Marcy Stumbaugh is survived by her children, Frederick (Linda), Phyllis (Michael) Korpan, and Joanne (Mike) Grandy; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Steven) Murray, Paul Stumbaugh, Lori (Tim) Hurley, Lisa Korpan, Christopher (Ami), and Jennifer Grandy; and her great-grandchildren, Ben, Matt and Ella Hurley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, and her sons, Leonard and Robert.

Services were held on March 31, followed by interment at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Arrangements were by Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home. Memorials to Ascension Church, 808 S. East, Oak Park 60304 are appreciated.
