For the third consecutive May, Oak Park and River Forest are getting ready for Celebrating Seniors, a project of the Oak Park-River Forest Township Senior Services Committee. This is a multifaceted effort to both provide resources to our elders but also to shift lingering perceptions that getting older is in any way getting lesser.

Sure, like any phase of life, becoming a senior has its challenges. But it is also a time of opportunity and adventure and it is worth celebrating.

The Journal is pleased to have helped again this year in the production of the annual resource guide that will soon be distributed. And starting May 16, we invite everyone to jump into the wide range of great activities being planned.
