Dominican University celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Annual Trustee Benefit on Sunday, March 6 with opera stars Samuel Ramey and Frederica von Stade. In their only Midwest appearance together, the mezzo-soprano and bass-baritone regaled a full house with songs from their own repertoires and shared the stage for renditions of popular songs by Aaron Copland and Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Following the concert, patrons enjoyed a silent auction, reception and dinner. In addition, the university’s annual Bravo Award was presented to the Lyric Opera of Chicago in honor of its 50th anniversary and to Oak Park residents Sylvia and John Giura for their support of the benefit over the past 25 years. The event generated over $200,000 for scholarships to the university.
