Alice Suzanne Goodreau, 89, a former member of St. Luke Parish in River Forest, died on April 13, 2011 in the Lehigh Center, Lower Macungie Twp., Penn. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown, Penn., and a former member of St. Luke Church in River Forest.

Born in Chicago, she graduated from Chicago Teacher’s College and earned her master’s degree in Education from the University of Nebraska. She taught elementary education in Madrid, Spain; the United States; and Taipei, Taiwan. A U.S. Coast Guard veteran, she served during World War II.

Alice Goodreau was the wife of the late James J. Goodreau and the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Regan) Anlauf. She is survived by her children, Dr. James J. Goodreau (Susan), Mary Beth Andersen (Donald), Richard D. Goodreau, Dr. Joseph F. Goodreau (Diane), and Alice Suzanne Meyers (Dr. Steven); nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on April 20 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Allentown, Penn., followed by interment at Resurrection Mausoleum, Wescosville, Penn. Arrangements were handled by Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, Allentown, Penn.
