River Forest police responded to a home in the 900 block of Lathrop Avenue at about 11:15 a.m. on April 17 after receiving a call from an alarm company for an activated burglar alarm at the address, according to a press release.

Upon arrival, officers found a glass rear door shattered. The offenders had fled prior to police arriving and “were likely scared off by the audible alarm,” according to the release.

Officer Glen Czernik said since police haven’t talked to the resident of the home yet, and they don’t know if anything is missing. But, they want to remind residents to:
