I would like to acknowledge Jim Flanagan and Ron Sherman of River Forest for their numerous volunteer hours as leaders of the River Forest Citizens Core Council. The mission is to educate and train volunteers to make our community safer, stronger and better prepared to respond to the threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds. I am pleased to be a member of this organization in its infancy.
I encourage others to join in this worthy endeavor. Volunteer doctors and nurses are needed for the Medical Reserve Corp, as well as other volunteers from all walks of life for the Citizens Corp.
