In the Wednesday Journal’s March 30 editorial column, you said: “The only contested race in the April 5 election that we didn’t issue endorsements for last week was Oak Park Township.”

This evening, I went to vote and discovered that your statement was incorrect. There was a contested election for Triton College board seats as well, and the Journal had absolutely nothing to say about it. The Wednesday Journal is the only local paper that I read. Because you issued no endorsements and also because you rarely cover Triton College, I had no idea how to vote.

This is a serious issue. Over-taxed Oak Park residents pay taxes to support Triton. Some of our kids attend classes there. Adult Oak Parkers also take advantage of Triton for various reasons, or would/should if they were aware of it as a resource. But you don’t cover Triton. You are apparently so unaware of its existence that you didn’t know there was a contested election for its board. Come on, Wednesday Journal. You can do a lot better than that.
