With snow still falling, Oak Park schools and the park district have canceled all after school activities.

Oak Park and River Forest High School has announced all activities and practices taking place after 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday are canceled. In an email send to parents OPRF says that several sports teams will still practice between 3:15 and 4:30 p.m.

Oak Park school officials have also announced they are canceling all after school activities on Tuesday due the severe weather. In an email to parents District 97 says Hephzibah will be offering emergency care until 4 p.m., allowing parents and guardians extra time to pick up their children.

The Park District of Oak Park sent an email just before noon announcing all activities scheduled after 3 p.m. Tuesday would be canceled except the Afterschool Clubhouse at Carroll Center.

Not sure where to direct this big thank you, but I wanted to recognize a stranger with a snow blower who saw me cleaning the sidewalk on my corner lot and quickly cleared the front and side walks. And thanks to all those in Oak Park who pitched in to help neighbors move the snow yesterday.
