The village of Oak Park announced five more residents have tested positively for COVID-19 March 26, bringing the total number of Oak Parkers afflicted with the virus to nine.
According to the news bulletin issued by the village, the "new cases ranged in age from 20s to 60s and includes a child younger than age 1." Due to privacy laws, the village gave no further information regarding the cases or the status of those who have received positive diagnoses.
The village gave neither the date the five residents underwent screening and testing nor the date they received confirmation of positive test results, as it has with previous announcements.
The announcement comes just one day after the village confirmed that a fourth person had tested positively for COVID-19.
Wednesday Journal will continue to update readers should the village announce more cases.
