An Oak Park teenager was arrested Monday and charged as an adult with aggravated criminal sexual assault in connection with the New Year’s Eve attack of a teenager girl in Logan Square, according to police and the Chicago Tribune.

Oak Park and River Forest High School confirmed Aanwar Barbour, 16, was arrested there Monday. He was also charged with robbery and kidnapping, according to the Cook County State’s Attorney’s press office. He was scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.

The Tribune reported an 18-year-old Highland Park girl was found beaten unconscious on a lawn in the 2100 block of North Rockwell Avenue. She met several people at a restaurant on Milwaukee Avenue across from the Congress Theater shortly before and left with them.

Barbour’s co-defendant, Terrance Ford, 15, faces the same charges, according to the press office.
