Oak Park schools cancel programs after 6 p.m., OPRF closing at 5 p.m.

In River Forest - Park district cancels Tuesday classes, Trinity cancels after school activities

In an email Tuesday afternoon District 97 officials announced any programs at Oak Park schools after 6 p.m. would be canceled due to severe weather. This includes any Park District of Oak Park programs taking place at Oak Park schools.

Oak Park and River Forest High School officials sent a similar email saying they are canceling any activities or practices taking place after 5 p.m. This includes the varsity boys basketball playoff game scheduled to take place at Glenbard North.

The River Forest Park District also announced via twitter, @RiverForestPark, that all classes and activities scheduled for Tuesday were being canceled. Trinity High School in River Forest posted on their Facebook page that all sports tryouts, play practice and activities in the fitness center are canceled.

The Park District of Oak Park has canceled all Tuesday programs except for the Afterschool Clubhouse at Carroll Center, gymnastics classes and the Ice Show run through.

Wednesday Journal will continue to post updates on the effects of Tuesday's weather for Oak Park and River Forest.

All after school activities AND those evening activities are cancelled.
