Don Harmon should be re-elected for all he's done and will do

I am writing to encourage the voters of the 39th legislative district, which consists of Oak Park, River Forest, Austin, and the western suburbs to re-elect Don Harmon to the Illinois State Senate. Senator Harmon is in tune with matters important to his constituents because he was raised in Oak Park and continues to live here.

I have met Senator Harmon several times and have always found him to be accessible and willing to listen. He welcomes ideas from his constituents and is willing to work with them. Because Sen. Harmon is so available, I have noticed that his office often gets phone calls from voters in other districts who have questions or concerns that need to be addressed or ideas they wish to put forward. He does what he can for them, whether to deal with the issue himself or direct the voter to one who might be able to help. Sen. Harmon works cooperatively with everyone throughout the region, which is certainly to our advantage.

While Sen. Harmon has a close working relationship with our two U.S. senators, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, and others, he has also demonstrated that he can be independent and is a leader in the Illinois Senate. Since being in office, Sen. Harmon has been the chief sponsor of over 60 bills that have passed the Illinois Senate and been signed into law. He has accomplished a great deal but there is a lot left to be done. State Sen. Harmon needs to be re-elected to continue the work that is so important to our community and our district.
