Citizens' alert needs to be sounded for all non-partisan Americans

We, as Americans, all desire having a truly just-minded, thoughtfully conservative, and strict constructionist of our Constitution as a Supreme Court justice. It is most unfortunate that the new Supreme Court justice, Samuel Alito, does not possess these qualifications. Mr. Alito is a partisan-political conservative and does not support the present interpretation of the Bill of Rights and our Constitution.

Fair-minded Republicans and Democrats alike should have opposed his nomination. I am disappointed to observe how partisan our elected officials have become. They seem to align themselves with their parties and vote in lock-step rather than be motivated by their own independent thinking.

The result of this senseless partisanship has been a severe damage to the checks and balance of the three divisions of our democracy.
