St. Luke School in River Forest kicked off its "Catholic Schools Week" celebrations with a Family Fun Night, held on Friday, January 27 in the school gym. The annual event attracted over 450 attendees, and included lively games of all sorts, face painting, and refreshments.

"It's wonderful to see the parish and school families come together and provide such an enjoyable evening for the parents and children in our community," commented Sherry McAllister, Family School Association president. "A big 'thank you' to all the parents who volunteered their time and talents to make this evening possible."

Other school and parish events included a well-attended Open House/Welcome Day on Sunday, January 29, teacher and student appreciation days, and the annual Religious Education Fair on Sunday, February 5. "At St. Luke, we don't just provide an education; we offer one infused with character, compassion and values," said Principal Barbara Rasinski. "We see the wonderful reality of Catholic education every day at our school in the dedication and integrity of our teachers and staff, in the compassion of our students, and in the life-long values that our alumni continue to embody and our many volunteers bring to us every day."

St. Luke Parish School is located at 519 Ashland Avenue in River Forest. Contact Principal Barbara Rasinski at 366-8587.
