Abu-Taleb needs to demonstrate he is committed to reform. Oak Park should set the nationals standard for open and honest government. The time is now to end the policies and practices that permit no-bid contracts, closed door deals and keep residents and taxpayers away from inspecting the TIF books. It's great that our Village strives to be a Tree City USA community and bike-friendly but public trust in government must be the top priority.
