Donald Williams

Donald Stenson Williams, 82, of Oak Park, died on Nov. 1, 2011. Born on Sept. 16, 1929 in Little Rock, Ark., he spent most of his life in Oak Park, graduating from Oak Park and River Forest High School in 1947 where he ran track and field.

Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a radar technician and central fire control gunner on the B-29 “Superfortress.” He was a graphic artist by trade and liked to paint and model caricatures. He enjoyed taking long walks in the village and was well known for his sense of humor and inquisitive nature. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

Donald Williams is survived by Rita, his wife of 51 years; his sons, Andrew and Anthony; his daughter-in-law, Kathleen; his grandson, Eric; his cat, Churchill; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewell and Margaret Williams and his older brothers, Francis and Robert Williams.

A memorial service will be announced when details are finalized.
