Dr. Harry L. Parker III, 66, the senior pastor of Oak Park's First Baptist Church from 1990 to 2018, died Nov. 22, 2019.

Dr. Parker of Elmwood Park, formerly of Oak Park; beloved husband of Linda, loving father of Steven (Molly Emerman) Parker, Rachel (Ryan) Farrell and Katherine Parker; cherished grandpa of Eliot Parker and Kayla and Rhys Farrell; dear brother of Suzanne Johnson and Kay (Mac) Danforth; dear uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Dr. Parker was Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Oak Park from 1990 to 2018, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Crafton in Pittsburgh, PA from 1983 to 1990 and Pastor of First Baptist Church of Sheboygan, in Sheboygan, WI from 1979 to 1983. He graduated from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, MI in 1975 and received his Master's degree in Divinity in 1979 from Northern Theological Seminary in Lombard, IL and received his doctorate in divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1988. For the past 20 years he has served as an adjunct professor at Northern Theological Seminary.

Visitation 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 26 at Drechsler, Brown & Williams Funeral Home, 203 S. Marion St., Oak Park and Wednesday Nov. 27 10 a.m. until time of Service 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Oak Park, 820 Ontario, Oak Park. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to: First Baptist Church of Oak Park or Next Year in Jerusalem Scholarship Fund at Northern Theological Seminary, 410 Warrenville Rd., #300, Lisle, IL 60532.
