Anne Berry, 88
Teacher, patron of the arts
Anne Berry, 88, died on Nov. 14, 2020 due to heart failure and complications from dementia. Born on Oct. 28, 1932 in Chicago, she was a resident of Oak Park throughout the 1970s and into the early 1980s, and recently moved back to Oak Park after a living in Indianapolis for 30 years. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois and a master's degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). A lover or art, she had a long career as an art teacher, working with all ages and all mediums. In retirement she was a docent for the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
A hard working, quick-witted, avid reader and lover of travel, she was a politically active individual, who was delighted to vote in the past presidential election. Active until the end, Anne was taking the el to see Hamilton and attend chamber concerts in downtown Chicago.
Anne Berry married Bill Berry in 1964. She was the mother of Jason Berry and Diann Harris; grandmother to Drew Harris; sister of Donald Andersen; mother-in-law to Andrea Berry; aunt to many nephews and nieces; and a friend to many. She was predeceased by her husband and her son.
Anne's family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care she received at Brookdale Senior Living in her final months.
Due to COVID restrictions, no funeral services will be held at this time.
