Edward (Ed) Lloyd Gould, 70, of Rhinelander, Wisconsin, formerly of River Forest, died on Nov. 4, 2019. Born in Chicago on July 14, 1949 to the late Harold and Sylvia (Caban) Gould, he was a longtime River Forest resident and a graduate of Oak Park and River Forest High School.

He began his career working for the family-owned business Acme Puig and continued on as a salesman before working at Brookfield Zoo, a period in his life he absolutely loved. He enriched his family and friends' lives with his gentle demeanor and caring ways. He also possessed a great sense of humor, bringing those around him to tears of laughter. He loved animals — he was never without a few dogs and a cat — and was a diehard, Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks fan. He retired to Rhinelander, where he enjoyed the beauty of the North Woods.

Ed Gould is survived by his partner, Melanie Slonski; his children, Dave (Danielle) Gould, Sara (Jeff) Kovich, and Liz Gould; his grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Jack, Emma and Lily; his sister, Jayne Gould; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Cuzzo.

A gathering in his honor will be held on Sunday, Nov. 24 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the residence of Jayne Gould, 1011 Keystone Ave., in River Forest.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Conservation International, P.O. Box 418608, Boston, MA 02241-8608 or on their website at Conservation.org.
