Jer Haagenson, 85
Longtime River Forester, active tennis player
Geraldine Mae "Jer" Haagenson (nee Waytula), 85, died on Oct. 31, 2020 from lung cancer and heart failure. Born on April 30, 1935, she was a longtime resident of River Forest, and lived in Stuart, Florida for several years also. The daughter of Peter F. Waytula and Eleanor V. (Tully) Waytula, she was an active tennis player for many years. She loved being with family and friends and enjoyed their company. A proud Catholic, she attended Mass at St. Giles and St. Luke parishes.
Jer Haagenson married Robert G. (Bob) Haagenson in 1960. She was the mother of Jill A. Haagenson and John R. Haagenson; the grandmother of Nate and Gabe Kennedy and Katie, Bobby, and Jack Haagenson as "Gran Jer." She was the sister of Beverly (George) Linsner, and Ronald (Bette) Waytula, and the aunt of many nephews and nieces, and a friend to many. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her sister, her brother, and her daughter, Jill.
No funeral services will be held at this time. A celebration of life event will be scheduled at a later time.
