Virginia (Ginie) Cassin’s family has announced a plan to have donations in her honor and memory made to the ongoing campaign to “Save the Hemingway Birthplace Museum” from closing its doors this winter as visitor revenues plummet due to COVID-19 mandatory closures.

Ginie led the foundation as it moved to acquire the Oak Park Avenue home in the 1980s and its restoration to its Victorian elegance over the years leading up to the centennial of Ernest Hemingway’s birth in July 1999.

Please donate online or by mail, noting that your donation is made in Ginie Cassin’s memory. http://www.savehemingway.com, or if you prefer to write a check, make it out to EHFOP and mail it to: EHFOP, P.O. Box 2222, Oak Park, IL 60303-2222.

Nothing would have pleased her more than her many friends here and well beyond donating to a large piece of her work on behalf of the Oak Park community.

John W. Berry

Chairman, Ernest Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park
