When a chunk of concrete fell from the top of the bell tower at United Evangelical Lutheran Church in Oak Park last year, it ripped a hole in the roof below causing water damage. After an emergency fix was made then to temporarily ensure no additional pieces fell, crews from Berglund Construction are now back making more permanent repairs to the tower. Workers Rick Sabo and Tomasz Menez navigate the scaffolds around the tower as they work 100 feet above the church at the corner of Greenfield St. and Ridgeland Ave. Friday. The project is scheduled to be completed in December.
