So it was announced in another article that it is going to be a dollar store, yippee. All the crap you can buy at a dollar or less. Wonder if the VMA trustees will be there for a ribbon cutting ceremony? They will have to buy the ribbon and the scissors, but I think there is two dollars left in the budget...if not they can pass a referendum or a tax increase to get it.

How about another housing project? If one in the old Comcast building is good, wouldn't two be better?

I just hope his Walgreens is less of an abject slum than the last one. I fear for the residents of Oak Park Arms. Please tell me they won't have a liquor section. Can someone explain to me the Village's hatred for the Madison Corridor? Count the defunct businesses, open spaces, the mysterious Chicken and Waffles opening in Spring 2009. For a place that sends special agents to ticket you if your garage isn't painted they seem to have a blind eye for Madison and its ocupants. The Walgreens is not welcome.

I predict a dollar store will be moving into that space...

Is there anyone moving into the old Walgreens or will it just be another hole in the VMA/Madison St. Coalition legacy? I am sure they can find another fast food purveyor to move in, as long as they give them a drive through!
