Businesswoman, teacher, golfer
Barbara Backman Tolle, 71, formerly of Oak Park, died at her home in Murrieta, California on Dec. 4, 2019. Born on July 31, 1948, she held a B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.B.A. from UCLA. After retiring in 2003 as program manager for Hughes Aircraft's Satellite Division, she started and operated a successful consulting firm for small businesses, as well as teaching at the University of Redlands and substitute teaching in the Temecula public schools. For many years, she was a leader and dedicated member of the Temecula Creek Women's Golf Club and is recognized for her organizational skills, kindness, and generosity.
Barbara Tolle is survived by her husband, Russell Tolle; her siblings, Kenneth (Vickie), Julie (Bruce) Specht, and Steven (Gloria); her nieces, Kristine, Jennifer and Kathryn; and her nephew, Nicholas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Loretta H. and John W. Backman.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Feb. 29, 2020 in Temecula, California. Details are forthcoming at www.englandfamilymortuary.com.
