A man was cleaning snow off his girlfriend's car in the first block of Pleasant Street at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16, when he was carjacked at gunpoint.

The car, a 2017 Hyundai Tucson, was parked on the street and warming up when the victim heard a car door shut.

He looked up and saw a man holding a gun walking toward him. The victim began to back away, and an accomplice to the gunman jumped in the running vehicle and drove away northbound through the nearby alley, according to a police press release.

The gunman then ran over to another car that was waiting nearby and fled westbound. No words were spoken to the victim during the incident, according to police.

The gunman was described as black, 5-foot-7, 170 pounds and wore a hoodie drawn tightly over his head and a facemask.

The only description for the accomplice was that he wore dark clothing.

Police are investigating the incident.

I agree with the other two commenters. There is no West Pleasant. Someone might have seen something or someone acting suspicious and could report it if they had an understanding of where this happened.

I was thinking the first block of west Pleasant is a block east of Harlem. Maple or Marion. It is a strange way to describe it.

"...in the first block of West Pleasant Street" -- What an odd way to describe the location. I presume the "first block" of Pleasant is at Austin, since the house numbers start there, but then why not just say "Pleasant and Austin"?
