I am honored to have received this award and am privileged to be in a village with so many wonderful community activists [River Forest mom was involved in a little of anything, News, Jan. 5].
Know that I did not do this alone by any stretch of the imagination. Without the energy and enthusiasm of fellow community-minded activists like Sue Crothers Gee and Maureen Spielman, these efforts would not have been so successful.
And so I share this award with all of us who want to make a difference and know it begins with our efforts and participation right here, right now.
I also applaud the fabulous work of the Parent Action Committee, women with whom I am privileged to be in this community!
