West Suburban Medical Center CEO named to '300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know' list

Jack Cleary, Chief Executive Officer of Vanguard West Suburban Medical Center, was recently named to the Becker's Hospital Review "300 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know" list.
Located in Oak Park, Illinois, West Suburban Medical Center first opened its doors as a 90-bed facility on February 17, 1914. Today, almost 100 years later, West Suburban Medical Center is a 234 bed hospital that continues serving the health care needs of its community and also includes an outpatient services campus in River Forest which currently includes the Center for Cancer Care, Center for Breast Care and Advanced Imaging Center.
West Suburban provides a full range of acute care and outpatient services including:
- The Center for Cancer Care, an outpatient treatment facility that features advanced technology including radiation therapy, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and chemotherapy, as well as an onsite laboratory and pharmacy.
- State-of-the-art Gastroenterology (GI) Laboratory featuring enhanced diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities for treating the complex diseases and disorders of the digestive system.
- Orthopedics and Rehabilitation services that provide comprehensive care musculoskeletal injuries and diseases.
- New Emergency Department Patient that opened December 2009 and boasts dedicated diagnostic imaging and laboratory on site.
- The Irvin & Margaret Houck Family Birthplace features traditional and alternative birthing options with obstetricians and gynecologists, family physicians and certified nurse midwives.
- Cardiac Care services with a new Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory that offers the latest technology.
Additionally, as a teaching hospital, West Suburban Medical Center supports strong physician residency programs in Internal Medicine and Family Practice. The Family Medicine Program established 1970, is a three year program that accepts eight residents each year with 24 residents currently enrolled. The program highlights a 100 percent board pass rate. The Internal Medicine Program, also a three year program was established in 1979 and accepts seven residents per year with 24 currently enrolled in the program.
