St. Giles Parish, Columbian and Greenfield in Oak Park, has been serving the Catholic community of north Oak Park and Chicago 's Galewood neighborhood since 1927.

Our mission statement reads, in part: "Called by a loving God to be Holy People, we place ourselves in the light of our Baptismal Commitment and come together as a community of believers. We reflect on God's plan for us as revealed by Jesus and brought to fullness by the Holy Spirit."

St. Giles is a vibrant faith community that offers dozens of ministries in the areas of Spiritual life and worship, Christian formation and education (child and adult), human concerns and parish life.

Throughout the 80+ years of parish life, thousands of people have given innumerable hours in service to the St. Giles community. Their talents and resources have provided the vision, witness and spirit that make St. Giles a special community in the hearts of our parishioners. Our call as a parish is to continue to share the gifts God grants us each day in whatever way we are able.

St. Giles School is a full accredited preschool through eight-grade institution with a before-and-after school program. Our program is based on the belief that each child is a special person created by God and endowed with his or her own special talents andpotential. Striving for academic excellence based in Catholic tradition, St. Giles Schoolmakes a difference.

Our parish religious education program offers religious education for public school andhome-schooled students in first through eight grades, including sacramental preparation. At St. Giles Parish, we are committed to giving vision and hope to the future by our prayer and our openness to Christ and the Holy Spirit, who call us and nurture us as we go forward in love and faith.
