The Groves of Academe will find their shorts in a bunch over this.

On a Friday evening and as November looms, the White House has opened another front in the culture war. At the direction of the president, the Office of Management and Budget is ordering all federal agencies to "cease and desist" any government training programs that include any reference to "critical race theory" or "white privilege,"

. . .  The theory has long been in vogue within academics. Trump now seeks to root it out within the administrative state. Among the ideas underpinning CRT, now formally condemned by the White House, is that the law and all accompanying legal institutions are inherently racist, and that race itself has no biological grounds. The concept of ethnicity is, instead, the product of a white society that uses systems and institutions to advance its own interests at the expense of minorities.

A thoroughly destructive view of the universe, espoused by so, so many Dems and teachers. Even in an enlightened community such as Oak Park.

"Critical race theory itself is racism..." Anti-lynching laws are themselves a lynching. Yeah, that works.

Kevin P: Early on in my slouching toward conservatism, I realized that the liberal creed was asking me to give up too much of what I was not about to surrender. Get them to doubt themselves. Gaslighting is the going term.

Oh, he's watching the morning shows too, KM.

WDJr, - only late night TV at that, and he's most likely to be constantly switching channels so what he gets is a grotesque college of disjointed non-sequiturs (it goes without saying...)

He doesn't read, Jim. I don't care what's on Twit. The goof does not read. He watches television.

Jim: And in the face of his order, D97 implements its own program to rebuild students' minds about their inborn racism. See the same issue of this paper. As the Cap'n said to Cool Hand Luke, "We're gonna get yo' mind right"

William D Jr., Not to agree with your assessment, but it's out there for all to see, on Twitter, for instance -- https://twitter.com/search?q=Critical%20Race%20Theory%27&src=typed_query.

Boy, you all give Trump way too much credit for any coherent, intellect based response to current events. The SOB just wants to get re-elected and retain his power to block prosecution of his various crimes. You act as if this ignoramus had read the Federalist Papers, let alone anything on "critical race theory." He hasn't.

Well said Mr. Sabey. Something to read regarding critical race theory: https://newdiscourses.com/2020/06/reasons-critical-race-theory-terrible-dealing-racism/

Critical Race Theory is code word for Marxism
