The college recruiting buzz seems to already be heating up for players in the OPRF High School basketball program.
Incoming junior transfer Erick Locke, a 6-foot guard who played at Brooks College Prep in Chicago under his father, Bobby, last season, already has several Division I offers on the table, including from Valparaiso, UIC, and Chicago State. Other schools that have shown interest in Locke are Santa Clara, Western Michigan, Northern Illinois and Wright State.
OPRF head coach Matt Maloney said senior guard Alex Gustafson is currently the top recruit for Grinnell College and has made visits to Washington University in St. Louis and University of Chicago. Gustafson recently received a preferred walk-on offer from UIC head coach Howard Moore.
Senior big men Thomas Ross, T.K. Mattox and Virgil Allen continue to receive interest from Division II and III colleges.
Senior Dan Moon has received strong interest from Macalaster College in Minnesota and Darrius Williams is getting looks from several College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin schools.
